At 24 weeks pregnant, I was rushed to the ER for bleeding. When I arrived, the hospital was on diversion and couldn't admit me at the time. Knowing I was scared, Jessica got the OK to put me on a fetal monitor to make sure the baby was okay. Jess kept me calm and reassured me everything was okay. As a first time mom, I didn't know what to expect. After getting orders to do a pelvic exam to see if I was dilated, Jess remained calm and called the doctor. When she returned, Jess stayed calm while explaining to me they were pushing me upstairs to admit me and prep for an emergency C-section because I was dilated to 8cm. When I got upstairs, Jesica explained to my family that I would be put to sleep and they couldn't be in the delivery room. All I remember was thinking I would be alone since her shift was soon ending. However, when I got pushed in surgery, I remember Jessica explaining she wasn't leaving me, and she would be in surgery with me since my family could not. Jessica went above and beyond for me and my family that day. Although, the outcome wasn't what we had hoped for, I am blessed to have had Jessica. She pulled a 16 hour shift just for me. Any patient would be blessed to have her as a nurse, and I am more than thankful she was mine!
