I was an inpatient at your hospital and had the big toe on my left foot amputated. It might not seem like a big operation for someone in the medical field. For me, I was extremely apprehensive since I have not had an operation like this before and I have no family. I wanted a priest to administer my Last Rights. I know Karen worked hard during her entire shift to get a priest, but it appeared no priest was going to show up in time. Karen helped me get through my apprehensiveness while I waited for my operation. I now know a smile and a rub on my arm was better than any medicine that could be given to me. Luckily a priest showed up a few minutes before I went to have my operation.
