Donna has worked on our unit for over 25 years. Her experience in ICU/med-surg led to her being one of the most experienced on our unit. Donna is currently a supervisor and also does patient care. Everyone loves to work with Donna as her positive outlook and assistance makes our day better.

... When an infant was not breathing adequately, she worked with physicians and NNP to get the infant transferred to a higher level of care. Donna explains things to her patients and families to assure them.

She speaks fluent Spanish. She does the scheduling of staff for our unit, and she calls staff when necessary and tries to be fair. She will go out of her way to accommodate staff when necessary. Donna always listens and puts the patients first.

One time, a CA told Donna that an infant was grunting. The infant's nurse was aware but hadn't followed through. Donna immediately assessed the infant, and the infant was transferred to a higher level of care. She is a great TL/CN, has excellent critical thinking skills, and she is a willing resource.

Social services states, "Donna has a positive energy and professional, caring outlook." Donna has continued with patient care and nurse leadership. She deserves this!!
