Every day and night Lindsey demonstrates the extraordinary skills that she possesses as a nurse by engaging and transitioning in the process of patient care. She exceeds with excellence in the nursing profession and provides outstanding care for her patients and she is very reassuring. Not only is she a patient advocate, she is a nursing advocate. She is a strong resource for her staff during the off shift that she works.
Lindsey touches the hearts of every patient and finds a connection with each one of them in a different way. One of the patient's stories that touched everyone's heart was a patient whom Lindsey took care of. He was from a big family, and he told Lindsey that the next day it would be the four year anniversary of his wife's death. Each year he and his family would release a purple balloon at her grave. His family was hoping that he could do that this year as well but due to him being hospitalized he was not able to maintain the ritual. When Lindsey went home she bought a purple balloon and asked her 3-year-old son to let it float into the sky in honor of the patient's wife. She took a picture of it and sent it to her co-worker to show it to the patient. The patient was very happy and teary-eyed, it made him smile. This is just one of many examples of how Lindsey goes above and beyond for her patients.
