I had a patient that had a total knee replacement. I asked Anahita Farsad to go speak with the patient because she spoke the patient's native language. When Anahita spoke with her she noticed that the patient had a slurred speech. Anahita called a rapid response team. The physician just wanted to get a neuro consult. Anahita advocated for the patient and called a Code Stroke. The ordered tests showed the patient had a stroke. Anahita did an outstanding job advocating for my patient and as a result, the patient was diagnosed, and proper treatment was begun.
