We have twin girls that were born 10 weeks early and we have now been in the NICU for a month and will potentially be here for another month. Early on we had Nurse Audra as one of our RN's and she made the NICU feel like a second home to us. Audra went above and beyond to help us cope with having babies in the NICU and allowed us to open up and talk about what we were feeling and allowed us to feel more comfortable about leaving our babies every night.
Audra gave us reassurance that they were in the best care, which allowed us to relax and care for ourselves as well as our babies. When we asked if she could be a primary, she said of course, but then we learned that our girls didn't qualify to have a primary. However, she is so passionate about providing the best care and the most comfort for parents and babies. She started calling before her shifts to ask to be assigned to our girls because she understands how hard it is for parents who are worried about their babies and how much of a difference it makes when you know the normalities of the babies as well. Which when you have babies in the NICU it is a blessing to have a familiar face and person that treats you like family when you come in every day. As well as a person that has seen your babies the majority of the time since the beginning of their life and is able to know their normalities and is able to inform you and teach you about your babies from a medical standpoint.
Audra is an amazing RN and has gone above and beyond every day that she has been here. If she didn't have answers or couldn't go into depth on a subject, she would put us in contact with someone who had answers or could go more in-depth. Our experience at the NICU has been amazing given our circumstances and the majority of the reason is that we have had an amazing RN, Audra. It is easy to come to work every day and do your job, but it is another to come to work and make connections and change lives. It is very evident that Audra comes to work with a goal to change lives and make a difference. Thank you.
