Elizabeth has taken care of my son on multiple occasions in the NICU. From the very beginning, she has made every effort to get to know our family and does not make us feel like we are just another patient to her. She has always explained everything in detail to us and called the doctors whenever we had any questions or wanted updates.
Elizabeth always involved us in my son's care. I still remember how excited I was when she asked me if I wanted to change his diaper for the first time, or when she gathered all the supplies and helped me give him a bath. It is those little things that make us feel so special and that she is going the extra mile for us when she does not have to. She is filled with so much knowledge about these little babies and does such a great job of reassuring us.
Every time I called to check on him, she always made sure to ask for the code work and gave me a full report of how he has been with her and that day and the report from the previous nurse. Just by watching her, you can tell that she loves the job that she does. We need more nurses like her taking care of babies along with their families. While we have had so many amazing nurses while in the NICU, I feel that we will remember Elizabeth not only for the care that she provided my son but also for the way that she made us feel. I always knew he was in great care when she was his nurse.
