Shannon has frequently done special things for patients including giving valentine cards, and recently getting flowers for a man here in the hospital for him to give to his wife on their anniversary day. I have known her to make special extra visits to patients and I feel she goes out of her way for all her patients. She is quite deserving of this award.

A patient was diagnosed the week of his 54th wedding anniversary with cancer - bone mets. Patient was to receive palliative RT only. Shannon bought flowers and delivered to the couple. She called service excellence to see what else might be available for them - balloons, cake, etc. She also spent a lot of time talking with the patient - offering support, offering chaplain services. Shannon and the patient seem to have a special bond. It touched my heart to see her care for him - not only physically but emotionally.
