Dulce Chavez is being nominated for the DAISY Award by her entire department. She came into a position with a determination to revive a program that had been put on the back burner. She took it from fair to good, but this nurse was not content, she wanted good to great knowing that would eventually reach outstanding.

Dulce is passionate about her work, their specialty, her coworkers and most importantly her patients. She has gone as far as assisting outpatients on a PRN basis, changing her schedule in order to accommodate the patient; this is a win-win making the physicians extremely happy and the patients as well. Her relationship with the physicians is excellent, the interdisciplinary communication and constant follow ups are superb.

Dulce seeks and craves furthering her education and knowledge in her nursing career without any prompting. She is truly a self motivated individual. Every day she has been persistent and innovative, striving to make the program and our hospital better each day. She will only stop at excellence!
