"Sandora saved my life. My A1C was 12.7 and I had pretty much given up. Over the years I have tried to understand diabetes but never could. So, I figured while I was in the hospital I would ask for help. And that is when the peppiest person walked into my room. Sandora spent as much time with me as she could until I was discharged 4 days later. I also did follow up care with her on 2 appointments and we would talk on the phone. She was always there for me and has been my rock, my "angel on the phone".
Sandora was there for me when I fell in my apartment. I had already called my doctor and they called EMS. I called Sandora and she wouldn't let me hang up until EMS arrived. Then, when I arrived at the Emergency Room, I was so surprised to see her waiting for me! She wanted to make sure I got there safely (she was there for me again!) and told me to call her when I was feeling better.
Sandora was also there for me when my dad was really sick and hospitalized. He and I hadn't spoken in over 9 years. She kept suggesting that I would regret not finding peace for both of us; she said 'he's your dad; he's the only dad you have'. She guided me through that hard time and even called me with condolences when he passed away 2 ½ days later.
Sandora goes way past above & beyond the call of duty. She is definitely a special person, very upbeat and peppy. Sandora cares and that's a rare quality to have. She connects on a level like no one else.
One time I was having trouble with numbers bottoming and was getting very confused. I called her for help and she stayed with me on the phone until I checked and rechecked my numbers until they came back up.
I have drawn her several pictures to say "thank you" but it isn't enough recognition. Patients like me are extremely lucky to have someone like Sandora in their life. God puts people in our paths for a reason.
My A1C is now 7.6. Sandora doesn't need to help me much anymore but we have an unbreakable bond and I thank God for bringing her into my life as she's my "little angel" who never gave up on me. She's someone who I respect - she's upfront, honest, helpful and very special."
