I was in the Cardiac Telemetry unit from 3/25/13-4/2/13, including the days of my angiogram and on through my open heart surgery and recovery period. Corri Ford was one of the several fine nurses who cared for me throughout my stay, but she was the one who took the time and talked directly with me as an individual patient. She remembered our conversations from day to day and was always good at continuing them each following time she came to give me a shot or take my temperature. In this way, she demonstrated her strong commitment to her nursing position and to the Swedish Health Care System. She always remembered the details of my particular situation and followed up on everything that I asked or that was needed. Corri is especially dedicated to her job, and should be recognized as an exemplary nurse--she was clearly the one serving me who had my personal welfare foremost in her thoughts. The temperature of the room, the noise level of the adjoining room, plans for my future care, and my progress as a patient were always ready on her mind. The DAISY Award would be an excellent way to recognize her skill and dedication to her profession.
