Summer is an extraordinary nurse. I have worked with several nurses while working in the medical field, and she is above all the most kind, reliable, and respectful Nurse. I know I can count on her when I call with an urgent patient question or problem, and I can count on her when it is not urgent and it is only the simplest of questions. Summer is a great Team player and will lend a helping hand when ever she is needed.
As the RN for a growing office Summer, took on many roles at one point while the office was transitioning; bringing employees in to cover specific jobs that Summer was handling in addition to her role as our Triage Nurse, RN, and go-to Nurse. One of the things that Summer took on in addition to her daily triaging was surgery scheduling. She has been an asset to our office helping out where ever it is needed.
Summer is always attentive to patient care, and always approaches any patient with a smile and a welcoming sound to her voice. All of the patients call and appear be able to talk to Summer at any and all cost. She is willing to talk to any patient, any time, and knows that patients' care is her first mission. She prioritizes her day so that her time is wisely distributed between the patients, her coworkers, and the office.
Summer is an amazing team player. She is all about being friendly, respectful, and courteous to anyone that she is around. She is not afraid to smile and use the most caring approach. She goes above and beyond for patients, and will do whatever she can do to make sure that all patients get the best care possible. Summer always tries to secure a good foundation for safety for patients, and is always keeping their health and wellness in mind.
All of the co-workers, me being one of them, love working with Summer! I have expressed above that she is one of the best nurses that I have ever worked with, and I have thought that since my first day at Swedish. Summer is a quality team member who is respectfully a great team leader, and shows her leadership Monday - Friday while she is at work. Summer has impressive integrity and deserves an MVP award for her contributions to our Ballard - OB/GYN office as well as Swedish.
Patient Centered Care - Summer is always driven to show that patients are her number one commitment and priority. She never turns down a call, a message, or a brief conversation regarding a patient to give the best care for any patient that comes into our office at Ballard - OB/GYN
Respect, Caring, and Compassion - Summer comes in everyday with an amazing attitude. She is mainly our triage nurse however; she has been helping out the MA's as we are short staffed at the moment. She is very compassionate; our patients love her. Summer is very approachable, and is ready to take on the day with a caring way that I have never seen before. She is very respectful of peoples' space, the privacy of patients, and is always caring for patients who call in, or who she rooms. (You can just tell the person she is when she smiles and says, "Hi, I'm Summer, I'm the Nurse here and will be taking you back for your appointment." One time Summer went above and beyond for a patient who needed help caring things to the room, as this patient was a new mother, and had a new born as well as a car seat, and clipboard with paperwork.)
Teamwork and Partnership - Summer is an outstanding person with impeccable leadership qualities. I look up to Summer as a team leader, and how she shows her leadership to our office, and coworkers. She is an amazing employee and I am extremely thankful to work with someone who always carries a smile, and walks through our office with grace, poise, and an ownership for her job description as Nurse.
Continuous Learning and Improvement - While our office was short staffed Summer took on a massive role, and did not mind learning and improving her knowledge. In addition to her "normal" role at Ballard - OB/GYN she took on the role as surgery scheduler.
Summer is constantly willing to learn and share new things she learns about Obstetrics and Gynecology and she is willing to teach others her knowledge.
Leadership - Summer is the only RN for the Ballard - OB/GYN office, and she takes on a lot of responsibilities. One thing that is impeccable is that she is always a team player. Teamwork shows that leadership is an importance, and just today Summer emphasized, "YAHH TEAMWORK". If there was a higher Leadership role that was given to someone in our office and Summer was given the opportunity and role, I would be thankful that Summer was in that position, as well as proud.
