Teresa went above and beyond for me while I was in ICU. When I first came to I didn't even know where I was. She helped me gather my bearings and figure out the procedure had been for more intense than anticipated. Whenever my symptoms worsened, she let me know what was causing the problems and what was being done to help. When I coordinated for my wife to bring some food, Teresa went down and got it from her and brought it up to me. For the entire first day, she did all of her duties while wearing COVID protection. When I talked with the doctors about how this episode changed my life expectancy and then had to call and relay that information to my wife. She stood by my side and provided me emotional support as I broke down over the phone. On my last day in the ICU, she noticed I had a lot of questions for doctors that weren't getting answered. Either I didn't know which team to ask or wasn't ready to ask when that team stopped by, I expressed my frustration to Teresa in the afternoon. She made a few calls and while I can't make out all of the details exchanged, her advocacy changed my visit. I feel that since that moment, I get more details and plans from the doctors directly and have been able to stay better aware of my stay in the hospital.
