My daughter, M, is 18 years old and was in a terrible car accident that almost killed her. Her journey didn't end there. She ended up becoming septic and had to have 4 surgeries to remove her spleen and repair her liver and two thoracotomies to repair a collapsed lung. We have spent over 6 weeks in the hospital. The majority of it on P5. Although, we had many great nurses, doctors, and other team members contribute to her recovery, Adrea was a step above all the others. We will always remember her and hold a special place in our hearts for all she has done for us. This was absolutely the hardest time of our lives. We have never really even had any experience with hospitals or surgery in general. We never would have made it through this tragedy without Adrea. She was a blessing for us. There is so much she did for us. She deserves this award. She is a hard-working, compassionate, knowledgeable nurse. She is everything a hospital/family could want in regards to patient care. She deserves so much more than just an award for all she does, but this would be a small token to recognize her for her chosen profession and simply for the person she is in her heart. We were blessed to have her and will never forget her!
Adrea went above and beyond to take exceptional care of my daughter. She had a hard time eating after her injuries and surgeries. Adrea would bring in special things she liked to entice her to eat. When she got anxious, Adrea would talk to her and calm her down. They would just talk about everyday things, and it would comfort M. Adrea knew, as a mom, I liked to be informed about the care, medications, and procedures being done on my daughter, and she would print me out information to read and know about her care for everything new that came our way. I truly appreciated that.
