I gave birth to preemie boys 2 1/2 weeks ago at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Today when my mom and I went to visit them in the NICU, my nurse Michael asked my mom (since I went out of the room for few minutes) if she thinks I would like to hold one of the babies. She said that she definitely thinks so, but I went to pump and will be back soon.
After a few minutes, Michael tells my mom that he's going on his break. My mom asks him, "That means that my daughter won't get to hold the baby today?" So, Michael stayed and waited for me to come back and helped me hold my baby for the first time! He went on his break 45 min after he really would have liked to go. I cannot express enough appreciation for his patience and the love he showed us today.
Thank you so much, Michael, for all you do for my babies.
