Having a C-section for my first child this week was filled with many mixed emotions of terror, delight, and fear of what to expect. A rollercoaster ride that I wish I could get off of. My daughter lost eight percent of her body weight in twenty-four hours. My milk production was nonexistent and to make matters worse, she had developed jaundice. I was at my wit's end trying to figure out how this happened. That is when Allison showed up in the morning, with a positive attitude and a smile that could be seen through her protective mask and shield. She was genuinely kind and honest. Her bedside manner was impeccable. As an asthma patient, I have encountered many nurses in my lifetime and Allison stands out. This woman, not only properly greeted me, my husband, and my child, but she also properly washed her hands, asked all the right questions, and was super gentle with me and my child. Her patient assessment was thorough, and it was evident that she loved her job and cared about her patients. She made my family feel as if we were important and in the right hands. I am honored to have had her as a nurse. And I feel inspired to be kind and attentive at everything I do from now on.
You don't meet many people like her. Allison in one word is "warmth".
