Wendy is an excellent nurse. She has specialized skills such as placing PICC lines. She flexes her schedule to cover this need whether or not it is her day to work or her day off. Sometimes before or after working a full shift, she places PICC lines. She is a very knowledgeable nurse who is able to work the M/S floors, ICU, and PAR. She is also in school furthering her education. She is willing to flex her schedule, hours, and positions to accommodate whatever the facility and the patients need. During COVID-19, she worked frequently on M/S to help amid a staffing crisis. She always has a smile on her face and a kind word for all. She makes patients feel like they are her only concern. Her customer service skills are top-notch. She is capable of multi-tasking as a nurse and a charge nurse. When she floats, she embraces every task with gusto and finesse. She is who I would want to take care of me and my family. She embodies the great qualities of trust, compassion, kindness, and get the job done attitude. Wendy is a gem. I am proud that she chose to help out in my department but even prouder that during a crisis she chose to serve the hospital in so many capacities. She is a high achiever with Community Cares and her love for the profession shines like a bright star. We are lucky to have her on staff but our patients are even more blessed to have her as their trusted and competent nurse. Way to go Wendy! The greatest achievement was taking on the challenge of being M/S charge nurse during COVID and a high census alert. Never a whimper, she just went up mid-day and took charge. The staff felt safe and well cared for when you were there. Thank you for your selfless service.
