I want to recognize Carmen for her professionalism and true compassion towards her patients. I recently had the experience of being a site manager during the COVID-19 crisis. In the ICU and witnessing professionalism and delivery of excellent care by all.
Carmen was a pure example of inspiring health, serving with compassion, and being the difference. She was taking care of a patient that required her to perform donning and doffing of PPE each time for this patient, which never stopped her. She gave this patient the care ordered and required but noted to really perform care and compassion while maintaining his dignity performing the needed care and beyond.
She always made sure the room was picked up, wiped bed off, machines, etc., but most of all she always provided the extras to assure her patient was clean and comfortable. He could not tell her what he needed but she seemed to meet those needs without him being able to tell her.
She was noted doing range of motion, positioning his arms and legs for comfort, assessing pressure area, etc. When she left her patient he looked comfortable and cared for with compassion.
