My son was admitted to the 8th floor. We had the pleasure of being cared for by Jasmine. And when I say "we" she made sure to not only go above and beyond for my son but also myself.
Jasmine was absolutely amazing and made my son's stay much more comfortable. We didn't even need to press the call button because she was so attentive. She encouraged him, informed him, and made sure that he understood the discharge directions. Because he has an auditory processing disorder, it is essential for people to make sure that he understands how to manage his health and that the directions were understood and reiterated.
Upon discharge, Jasmine walked with me to the pharmacy to make sure we had the right equipment and made sure we had all the information we needed. She even printed additional information that she thought would be helpful, and it was. Jasmine is what PCH should be known for: comfort, compassion, and care.
Thank you.

Jasmine was not my daughter's direct nurse, but she happened to notice me at the door of my daughter's room, waiting to get someone's attention and she was the only one to stop and ask if I needed something. I explained to her that the "fluid machine" was making noise for several minutes and was trying to get a hold of her nurse.
Jasmine kindly stated she could help us. She definitely showed the underlined qualities above [on the DAISY nomination form - promotes health and provides comfort to patients, demonstrates excellent evidence-based care, collaborates with all members of the healthcare team]. She took the time, with patience, to remove the unacceptable old dressing that my daughter had and cleaned it up with a lot of care while comforting my daughter. We need more nurses like Jasmine, who showed compassionate care while taking/showing pride in her work.
Thank you a lot, Jasmine.
