My sister had 90% blockage in all of her vessels and she was to have open-heart surgery. My sister is cognitively impaired and once I released her here to your facility, Sheila Thomas took over as our family member. She stayed with my sister and comforted her like she was part of her family. She truly showed her compassion by holding her hand, providing emotional easement to not only my sister but also to our family, making us feel good about leaving her during this time. Sheila not only provided comfort, but she also continued to show her support by updating myself and my family with personal phone calls during the procedure, just to give us an update. During this time, each of these personal compassionate attributes showed us her care and compassion. She went from being a nurse who is just doing her job, to a compassionate and caring human being.
