My nurse, Margaret Hollihan, checking me in for my procedure discovered I was allergic to the anesthetic. I had no knowledge about it, was never told by any physician. Margaret said I might have to reschedule and redo all of the prep again. This upset me, but she would check with the doctor to confirm what she discovered. Yes, he did confirm. Margaret didn't give up; she checked to find another physician and anesthesiologist that used regular or different anesthetic that I wouldn't be allergic to and would have time to take care of me. Bless her heart, Margaret did. I got lucky but had to wait until 12:00 pm when another doctor had an opening. Margaret went way beyond my time allotted for checking me in, was very professional, calm, most of all the list of allergies. I can't thank her enough. I could have had a real serious problem.
