Simo Bolay provided me with outstanding, quality care after I had surgery. Her warmth, kindness, and smile are so contagious that she couldn't help but make my stay more comfortable on 7 West.
Simo was extremely attentive to pain management. I had breast surgery for cancer earlier this month and then additional surgery at UM BWMC due to an infection. She was very compassionate about my chest pain and made sure it was managed and checked on me often. She contacted the doctor to get additional medication to help keep the pain under control when I arrived at 7W in the evening from the PACU. The extra surgical bras they provided were cut very small and they were also the wrong type. Simo went the extra mile and went downstairs personally to get me the correct size and style of surgical bras. She acted quickly, was very persistent in getting it right and did it all with a warm smile. I am so grateful because each dressing needed a clean bra since the drain incision was leaking. I was very anxious about the cancer, the infection, and the drain, but Simo's demeanor was so calming and warm, I couldn't help but feel better about my situation since Simo was my nurse.
I am so fortunate and blessed to have had Simo as my nurse. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
