Our son arrived in the ICU, was put in a medically induced coma and on a respirator. Our son is 44 years old and had been diagnosed several days earlier with multiple myeloma and kidney failure. As parents, we were watching a nightmare before our eyes. After he was stable, his nurse, Kristen, explained and answered all my questions; I had many questions. She and others took such professional care of our son. Our burden was overwhelming, however, the actions of all helped us know that our son was in good hands. We flew in from Ohio after receiving a text from our son, however, when we arrived we were shocked at his failing health. Kristen checked in with us to make sure we were okay; we were overwhelmed emotionally and financially. Kristen made some calls and we were able to get a hospitality home. She also called a rental car agency, spoke with the manager and told them she was nurse in the ICU and had a couple who needed help; the agency worked with us on our rate. We will be forever grateful for all of her help! Her nursing skills, kindness and sense of humor were a comfort to us during such a critical time. Helping us get housing and a car was far beyond any expectations one could ask. Her support to our son and to my husband and I will never be forgotten. Thank you, Kristen.
