Mr. Rico was amazing! I was so happy to see that he was my nurse for the night when I saw him! He'd always come in when he got here and say hello to me and ask how I was doing. He also asked how my day was and how I was feeling. He'd ask if I needed anything and tell me it was nice to see me!
Any time I needed something, he got it instantly. When we didn't have any Ensures on the unit, he would call and order some for me. One night I had absolutely TERRIBLE cramps and he went on a mission to find me a heating pad, which they didn't have anywhere, so he made me one! AMAZING! Hot water on a towel, in a bag, wrapped in a pillowcase! Literally a lifesaver!
Rico would check on me multiple times each night to make sure I was okay or needed anything, as I was in a lot of pain multiple nights and my blood pressure would drop really low around midnight.
Not only did he take such good care of me from 7 pm - 7 am, but he always did it with a smile, kind heart and words, and such beautiful, positive vibes and energy! I couldn't believe how lovely and kind he always was and I really liked that in the morning he would come in and say goodbye and wish me a lovely day.
This job must be so very hard for all the nurses and I was/am just BLOWN AWAY and amazed by all the love and compassion I received.
I've learned that there really are GOOD, GENUINE, lovely humans in this world and I definitely have a much more positive, motivated outlook on life now. Thank you, Mr. Rico!!
