Nicole cared for my father who was diagnosed with endocarditis. She really went above and beyond to make my father as comfortable as possible. She held his hand at times and made sure she did everything she could think of to make dad feel more normal. She helped clean him up and comb his hair. She found an inflatable mattress to help him get a good night's sleep. She was the first nurse to recommend that and I think it helped him a lot with his sore back to help take the pressure off. She took extra time to explain the different issues dad was experiencing.
Nicole is extremely smart, and I can tell that she makes good decisions under pressure. She drew anatomy diagrams for me to explain why fluid was filling up his lungs and why BiPAP/CPAP was necessary to keep him breathing. Nicole is really friendly and just has a tremendous amount of compassion. She is a great asset to the nursing staff at Bergan.
