Dale has been an absolute blessing to me and my family over the last few days. Since I arrived, she has been providing excellent care to my Father. While I know nothing about medicine, she seemed to know everything. Most importantly, she provided emotional support. First of all, she brushed my Father's teeth, combed his hair, and even shaved his face. This might seem routine or small, but it meant the world to us. Towards the end, Dale helped immensely with explaining what the doctor said. She assured us he was in the best hands possible. She even placed a shirt I had bought on his chest. When I was saying my goodbyes to my Father one of his IV's was beeping. Dale came in to fix it while Dad and I were listening to "Thunder Road". Dale encouraged the playing of music and told me that either way my Dad was hearing the song. She then smiled and gave me a pat on the back as she left the room.
Dale explained medically what was going to happen once the tubes were removed and she encouraged questions. She also assured me and my family that he was not in any pain. She then waited outside the room while my Father passed.
Dale's medical knowledge is superb. But most importantly, her compassionate care and reassuring presence have made a lasting impression on me.
