One day in June, a senior at a local high school was playing football with his friends. He took a good hit that knocked the wind out of him. Later, he was admitted to the Surgical-Anesthesia Intensive Care Unit with a ruptured spleen. He was set to graduate later that week. The physicians told him it would not be possible to leave the hospital so soon.
