Buffy's patient had a 2-year fertility journey before becoming pregnant and then had a complicated pregnancy with twins! When the symptoms of pre-eclampsia started, she had to be admitted. Buffy was with her every step of the way, explaining what was happening, keeping her informed, watching her babies' vital signs and making her more comfortable over a period of several days. When the doctor decided that it was time to do an unplanned C-section, Buffy asked the patient if she wanted her to be with her during the surgery. During the procedure, the OR got very loud (since there were 2 teams there for the babies) and this patient became very nervous, Buffy noticed, took a moment to quiet the room and refocus on the task at hand. Even after she was transferred to Postpartum, Buffy continued to look in on her patient. This is a quote from the patient:
