While the whole nursing and support on this floor were outstanding, Rachel really stood out. My husband and I never experienced the serious effect of a stroke and heart problems. My husband will be 80, so at our age, it can be scary. We had just gotten the diagnosis and thought we understood. When our son called, Rachel picked up on our lack of clear understanding.
We put our son on speakerphone and Rachel, very carefully, drew a picture on the board and explained how the chambers of the heart worked. My husband asked questions. We asked questions. She patiently explained until we understood. She was with us throughout our hospital stay. She explained all our medication and helped set up times to take each one. Turns out, we were combining them wrong.
Rachel even took my husband in a wheelchair to the parking garage when it was time to leave. You have an exceptional employee who goes above and beyond. I would say our whole experience on this floor was exceptional. We appreciate Rachel and all her caring ways.
