On behalf of the entire Emergency Department Family, I would like to nominate Susan Guilliams, RN for a DAISY Award. Sue has been a member of the Cape Regional family for the past 40 years and has held multiple positions and responsibilities throughout the years; all of which had one clear goal: caring for our community. She has been a preceptor to countless new employees as well as a resource to multiple others. She epitomizes the definition of "Extraordinary Nurse" and has a genuine heart for her patients. She has received countless letters and cards of thanks from patients and families over the years, all recognizing the personalized care she provided.
As the director for this department for the last five years. I have benefited from the foundation she has helped to put in place. The commitment to excellence and the desire to be much more than just a little community hospital have manifested in policies, educational offerings, requirements for certifications above and beyond other similar facilities, as well as a commitment to each patient who comes through our doors. This culture permeates everything we do and she is a big reason why it is present. She is a wonderful nurse and worthy of this great honor.
