Whitney came on her shift to care for me with confidence, professionalism but with a personal touch. She connected with me first before starting any of my care. She made me feel safe in her care my first night after surgery. I never had to wait for anything from Whitney. I would have thought I was her only patient to care for. She was in my room taking care of things I didn't even ask for. Some of my home medications were not in the computer correctly so she got my list and called Pharmacy to make sure I had everything and it was accurate.
She developed trust with me at the start of her shift. She began by asking about me and then we went into the why I was in the hospital. She was thorough with my pain. I had a rough few hours but she made sure I got relief but didn't affect me going to therapy the next morning and I got to go home that night.
Whitney had exceptional interpersonal skills with me and my wife. She made my bed without asking while I was in cleaning up. She even put a sheet on the recliner so my legs wouldn't stick to it. She was so detailed oriented that I truly felt like I was at a luxury hotel instead of a hospital. Her calming, confident demeanor with her skills made me feel relaxed. I enjoyed just having a conversation with her that took my mind off my pain. Her care was definitely an influence with me getting home after only one-night stay. That was so important to me.
