I worked with Rachel on a very difficult case which was distressing for much of the staff. Not only did she go above and beyond to advocate for what was needed for the patient, but she also worked tirelessly to make sure the multidisciplinary team had accurate, current information. she took extra time and effort to assure all parties were kept in the loop, which went above what she needed to do. I watched her comfort staff and co-workers as they were all struggling with this difficult situation. Rachel is a DAISY Nurse not only for her mission-driven advocacy in this case but for the many times she goes above and beyond to create a way of caring which is patient-centered.
