Karinne provided amazing care for my son after his spinal fusion surgery. On the day before discharge, she helped to implement a trial so we could manage my son's pain at home. This trial was on oral medications, but my son would still have the IV medications available if needed.
However, on the evening before discharge, we were notified of an issue about getting my son's new back brace adjustment. The issue was that the discharge would now have to be delayed by an entire day; since medical transport would not be able to transport us after 4 pm for pick-up.
After hearing this, Karinne made all of the necessary calls to all members of the care team to make the needed arrangements so we could still be on track for our original discharge date. In doing so, Karinne was at the hospital for at least an hour and a half after her shift. This morning all of the plans fell into place and we were happily able to be discharged and are now happily at home because of Karinne's hard work and dedication.
