From the minute Morgan walked in my daughter's room. I knew J (my daughter) would be okay. Her confidence and dedication to patient care was evident. She introduced herself and immediately updated our board. She didn't just write names and numbers on the board, she included us as she updated it. This made us as parents feel important. Morgan clearly understood what our goals for J were and she knew her role. Needless to say, she was in our room every 2 hours, she responded to all her alarms, she assessed J's neuro status every hour and she most importantly kept J pain free. However, at 3 am J woke up out of nowhere with a 10 out of 10 headache. My heart was being crushed by the minute and her ability to critically think and react made me feel so much hope. Morgan made me feel like I was safe and that J was her number one priority. I'm so grateful to Morgan! She listened to me as her "mom" and took action. Time is so important and she was on it! Even if a bad outcome was coming, Morgan was the right nurse to have! Luckily, the cat scan results were negative. J was resting peacefully the rest of the night thanks to Morgan! I will fly home and be proud of a true DAISY Nurse! As a nurse myself, I know when a great nurse is taking care of a child! Thank you, Morgan!
