Susie is one of the most compassionate leaders in this organization. On a recent Sunday, I was working in the Emergency Department very early in my shift as they had critical patients, one of them being one of our own staff member's family. Susie called me to check on what was happening and I had to tell her I couldn't talk because I was in the ED with a critical patient.
I'm not sure how much time had passed but it seemed like it was only a short time when I came out of a patient's room and Susie was there dressed in scrubs. She stayed nine hours working along with the staff that day due to the continuous stream of patients who presented to the ED.
Susie has always been available to her staff to help whenever needed. Even coming in the middle of the night. She often leaves her work on a weekly basis and comes to the ED to help care for patients. The compassion she has for her staff and our patients show on a daily basis.
