Kari's service to my daughter in the NICU when she had twins was extraordinary. Kari consistently went above call and duty to make A's experience full of success. She was professional, knowledgeable, calm, personable, compassionate, and humorous.
She made A feel like she had all the time in the world to help, just as if she were her own mother. She not only answered A's many questions but also offered helpful information on any conceivable topic (such as bottles, car seats, a chiropractor, an anniversary get-away, nursing, getting rest) to aid A as a new mother, preparing her for upcoming duties and transitions.
She would bring in other staff (therapist, lactation consultant, etc.) to enhance A's understanding of her babies' development. Kari worked hard to make the room homey, keep A comfortable, and facilitate getting photos of the babies that A wanted. It was also obvious that Kari strove for what was best for the twins. Other nurses spoke highly of her. Kari performed her responsibilities in a way that communicated that this was more than a job to her; it was her joy.
