My son R has been at the hospital for 7 weeks and counting. We have been lucky and blessed to have some of the most amazing nurses and doctors care for R. It is hard narrowing down a specific nurse, as all the nurses have gone above and beyond in treating R and all of us with the utmost respect and care that only can be described as being treated like family. Any time we have Summer as R's nurse she treats us as if we are part of her family. On one specific night R continually pressed the call button because he was lonely and wanted someone to talk to. Summer finished her lunch break early to sit with R during the remainder of her break and kept him company to talk with him so he didn't feel alone while we slept. Summer is extremely knowledgeable and talented in her profession. Summer is a wonderful nurse and equally an amazing person. Summer is one in a long line of amazing people we have met during this journey with R but Summer always brings a smile to R's face and she helps us keep R's spirits up during all he is going through. I believe she deserves to be recognized not only for her abilities as a medical care provider but also because of who she is as a person.
