My father was diagnosed with Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma. This was devastating news for my mother, father and myself. Upon returning from the surgical waiting room to the floor, Brittany could tell something was wrong. After getting my father comfortable, she pulled me and my mother aside and started to comfort us. Throughout the day as doctors filed in and out of the room to discuss the reality of the situation, she would always come in to comfort us. By the end of the day, she had my father laughing and joking on the same day he had just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She was as concerned with my mother and me as she was with my father. It was getting late in the day and she knew my mother and I had not eaten the entire day. At 5 pm she brought us food and drinks. At the end of her shift and after she had clocked out, she came back and walked my father on her own time. Once again, she comforted us and even shed tears with me before she left. Brittany was truly an angel sent from heaven to me and my family on that terrible day. She will never be forgotten and my family will be forever grateful and indebted to her.
