Bruce Tumlin was nominated for the exceptional service that he provided to a dying veteran and his family during his time on Safe Harbor. The Veteran's wife expressed her family's anguish as the Veteran's health had begun to deteriorate. Bruce was a source of comfort and took the time to answer and explain any questions that the family had. Through his actions, the family was in a better place and although death is never easy, Bruce made this transition period easier for them. Bruce went above and beyond in his care, but he refused to receive all the accolades without first thanking his colleagues on Safe Harbor.
Bruce stated it best, "I could not be successful without the help of my team on Safe Harbor." On behalf of the Nursing Leadership Team, we would like to thank Mr. Tumlin for providing our Veterans and their families with outstanding service every single day!
