As a nurse myself, I know the professionalism that nurses possess and the true meaning behind this DAISY Award. Tarik exemplified everything that this award stands for. As she cared for our mother in the ICU, room 102, she displayed caring and compassion to our mother and our family. She was never too busy to answer our questions or listen to our concerns. She always kept us informed and updated with the latest information. She was meticulous in the care that she provided to our mother and frequently evaluated her and her status. I observed her actions and the accuracy of her care. She provided excellent care each and every time she entered the room like she had no other patients on that shift.
From her introduction at the beginning of the shift until her hand off to the oncoming nurse, her stellar professional demeanor put us at ease and confident that our mother was in the very best of hands.
Our family will be forever grateful to Tarik and the entire ICU team for "saving" our mother's life.
