Jan is committed to Bryan's core values. She cares like crazy by being in tune with the feelings of others whether it is students or coworkers. She listens intently and provides comfort in stressful times. She truly enjoys the journey by being excited about educating nursing students. She is a leader. Jan encourages students to reach their potential in a safe environment. Whether it is for the student, coworker, staff, or patient, she is willing to provide an extra hand, comfort, education, time, or just another cup of coffee.

Jan emulates not only the criteria to be a DAISY Honoree, but also the core values of the Medical Center. I was fortunate enough to have Jan as my own faculty member during my nursing education. I clearly remember her genuine kindness and compassion, especially during clinical. The students that she advises quickly develop a trusting relationship with her and understand that she is someone that will support them throughout their education, extending beyond graduation. Jan has a positive attitude and works hard to share it.
