Erica Montoya was the nurse on duty when my daughter arrived in labor. From the beginning, Erica was supportive, focused and dedicated to the care of my daughter. She was totally involved in keeping my daughter focused and provided her with continuous strategies to labor comfortably. She was outstanding in patience and perseverance when my daughter exhibited exhaustion and signs of surrender. She never left my daughter's side and had to be persuaded to take 5 minutes to eat to preserve her own energy and stamina. She continued to provide care to my daughter during her tub time, giving back massages to help relieve her back pain which endured throughout her labor. She tirelessly encouraged her in her worst moments, always calm and reassuring. She constantly educated her with new ideas to transition through tougher times and greater intensities of pain. She provided me with answers to questions and fears that I, too, had. I was so relieved to have her with us. Her demeanor was so calming. She was always approachable to answer questions and discuss the course of action and available options. Having a baby in today's times is much different than when I gave birth 20-30 years ago.

Erica is a true example of a nurse who is passionate about her profession and truly loves what she does for a living. Her guidance made our birthing experience a wonderful one.
