My father was airlifted to Winchester with a suspected stroke; it turned out that he was having repeated TIAs. Your hospital in general and Jesse in particular was amazing.
My fiancé and I entered the cubicle in the ER that had been assigned to my dad and were immediately met by the doctor, who filled us in on all she knew. Within an hour my dad was assigned to a room. Jesse met the family there before my father even arrived. He filled us in on the test results at that point. He told us everything that was being done and would likely be done. When my dad was brought in Jesse filled him in on all that he knew.
Throughout the day, Jesse kept such good watch over him that I actually asked him at one point if my dad was his only patient. He said, "No, but he is my most important one." He said this was because he was the newest patient and that he had needed to keep the closest eye on him while getting to know him and his case.
All day, my family and I were there and Jesse continued this impressive level of care and communication. He was there with answers, most times before we could ask them. Additionally, he was very relaxed in his approach to his job and full of good humor. He was by far the best nurse I have ever encountered (and I've encountered quite a few) and he deserves this award.
