Angela didn't just make a difference in our life she made an impression in our hearts and mind.
My nephew D was in a terrible motorcycle accident and had been in her unit for about 5 days. My sister stayed by his side as much as she was allowed. He showed very little brain activity but a great deal of movement. When we met Angela, her personality was out of this world. She was not just a nurse, she was patient, knowledgeable and always ready to explain anything my sister asked even if she asked it 100 times. She shared sadness with us, and I can remember asking my sister every day at 7pm is Angela his nurse, and when she would say YES, we would get so excited.
Each day that I saw my nephew at 730 pm, when he had Angela as a nurse, you could see that he was well taken care of and his brain had more activity. Angela was a great part of my nephew's healing and recovery; she was the nurse that got him to respond for the first time. I can still remember that day.
She was positive and never said a negative thing. She gave us great hope and we were so happy to share our happiness with her. On her last day of the week, we shared a hug to show our happiness that D was doing well. We were so happy when we got the call that he was being moved to a step-down unit. But so very sad that our chances of getting Angela back as his nurse was not possible.
The kindness and personal empathy that Angela Goodale showed us will always be in our hearts and in our minds. We thank her for everything!
