The word 'wow' does not come close to expressing how much Krystal amazed my family and me. She is by far the definition of nursing: loving, caring, compassionate, dedicated and patient. These traits are easy to find in a nurse, but not normally all at once. Every night Krystal worked, her smile never went away no matter how heavy her load got. She took the time before she started her rounds to ensure that all of her patients knew her name, what was going on and had everything in order. She was always on time with medication and checked in just to check in. She made it seem as though we never bothered her, no matter how much she had going on. There was one night she was trying to get a doctor to come up to see me because of my heart rate issues. She activated an RRT code and got an amazing group of people up here to help me and would not stop until that doctor came to see me. She also made sure I knew to always call if I needed help, ensuring my safety and well-being. There wasn't anything I wasn't aware of with Krystal as my nurse. This isn't someone who just comes to do her 12-hour shifts; she has a passion for being in a field she loves. She made me feel welcomed, safe, secure and loved. I was happy to wait the 12-hours until I got my favorite nurse back.
