The story begins: If I could create the perfect nurse who I would want to care for me and everyone I love, it would be Vickie without question! She not only provided my friend with exceptional medical care, she cared for him as a person and not "part of the job!" She also took the time and effort to ensure that his family was cared for as well.

I am not nominating Vickie for her expert professional care, but for everything she did to take care of us all that went far and away above the call of duty. She was always patient and kind, explained everything clearly, consisely, and completely. She always talked to him to hear his concerns and did so in a respectful manner. She maintained his dignity at all times and helped us control the flow of visitors.

My family member would "tear up" as he would tell us how much Vickie has done for him and meant to him. He refers to her as his angel as well. Vickie is truly a special, gifted, compassionate, and extraordinary nurse and I feel blessed and honored that she was here to take care of my loved ones during the worst experience of their lives!

Vickie deserves this award and acknowledgement if only for the wonderful and unexpected care she has given to us!
