Sandra is a registered nurse in the Heart Center and is respected by her peers and trusted by her patients. The relationship she builds provides each family comfort in their child's care. Often a phone call to the clinic will result in the family asking specifically for Sandra as they are confident she will answer their questions and follow through with her responsibilities. She is the true example of a nurse providing holistic care to the patients and families within our healthcare system. She gets to know each family, remembers them, and keeps up with their current status. When they come to clinic or call on the phone, she takes the time to be with them, listen and intervene on an individually appropriate basis. She puts 100% into addressing their needs, advocating for optimal health and empowering them with love and encouragement to make it through some difficult times with challenging diagnoses.

Sandra has the most beautiful smile that shines continuously. When patients come to the clinic, she greets them with enthusiasm and shares excitement to see them and catch up on their current events. She utilizes great communication skills and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure her patients' needs are met. It is not unusual to see Sandra go out of the way for a patient or family and she will tackle a problem until completed. You will never hear Sandra speak negatively and she has a gift for putting a positive focus on sometimes very difficult issues. Sandra's natural ability to care is shared beyond the walls of our facility as well. She is very involved in her church, supporting the community, sharing with the homeless, being available for someone in need of a hug or a meal during difficult times.
