Kathy always goes above and beyond for all of her patients. So it is very hard to name just 1 specific time I have observed her and her extraordinary care in action. I am always amazed at her skills, her patience and her compassion. She would be my #1 pick as my nurse if I ever had to be admitted or if a family member had to get admitted. Her patients are always well informed about any tests or procedures they will be having. She is always there to lend a helping hand to all of her co-workers. I can't count how many times I have seen this. That is why I am always happy to see that she is on duty when I get here because I know that "our" patients will be well taken care of, and when I say our, I mean each and every patient here on our floor, because this is how she views it and it shows. Whether it be just helping to pull someone up in bed, take them to the bathroom or offer her awesome knowledge for nursing. We are lucky to have here at St. Joe's. She even makes me consider going into the nursing program so I can make as big of a difference as she does every day she is here. So when you ask for one experience I can't do it. I'm sorry, this nurse deserves far more credit than that. She is my role model and I cannot think o anyone more deserving of this award. She truly is OUTSTANDING.
