The actions and routine care that are shown by Felicia Grogan, an exceptional nurse, has created a blueprint for showing empathy to patients and visitors. A security officer suffered a tragic loss when her father passed. The officer had not been on the job any longer than a couple of months. She had recently moved from Cleveland and was simply not in a position to purchase a flight to attend the funeral. Felicia was simply asked if there was anything that could be done or someone to contact for assistance. Soon, the officer was found crying in the security office because she had run out of options. Felicia then walked into the office and handed the officer a sympathy card with a folded paper inside. It was a flight itinerary from Houston to Cleveland round trip. Felicia had paid for the entire flight! The emotion overwhelmed the officer and the embrace of Felicia was so special.
