Kalai was my father's nurse after he had surgery to remove a tumor from his brain. Kalai was absolutely exceptional. She kept my dad and our family informed; she checked in with us periodically just to let us know things were moving along. She was compassionate; she allowed us to be ourselves and even made some jokes that lightened the mood. She was empathetic; encouraging my family to leave for a bit to eat lunch and made sure we knew that my dad was in good hands. Above all, she showed genuine compassion and care for my dad.
When we knew discharge was soon, she understood my dad wanted to go home as soon as possible. She was efficient and moved the process along. Her demeanor throughout our stay was unbelievable. Kalai demonstrated all the attributes one could ask for in a nurse providing care for a loved one. While the diagnoses and surgery were overwhelming, Kalai was a breath of fresh air. My family and I cannot thank her enough for her help. She was simply the best!

Kalaivani was absolutely amazing! My father had brain surgery and was admitted into the Neuro ICU. Kalai was compassionate, caring, and respectful. She took care of his medical needs with such attention to detail while explaining to him what she was doing so that he was not worried. She offered him various options for his care and had a gentle kindness to her that made him (and all of us) feel like he was in good hands. She was smart, knowledgeable, and was always able to answer our questions.
When the doctor came to check-in, Kalai would come into the room because she shared that she wanted to make sure she knew exactly what the doctor was saying and ensure that my dad's care matched what she was doing for him. When it was time for my dad's discharge, she started the process promptly and made sure that everyone was following up with us so that we knew what to expect when he was released. This also included Kalai showing us how to care for his incision and providing us with such detailed discharge instructions which she reviewed thoroughly with us and answered all of our questions.
Kalai truly made his stay wonderful (considering the circumstances) and we are all very appreciative that my dad had her as his nurse. She will never know how much we appreciated her and the care she gave my dad, but we want to thank her!
